The Hobby Den Wargaming Review

Plastic Soldier late War British 20mm

By Piers Brand

Well I got a set of the new British from the
Plastic Soldier Company today... and Im impressed!

I wasnt overly keen on  the previous two sets but these look great for £11 for 66 figures. Despite a
couple of dodgy poses (well every plastic set has to has one or two dont it?)
such as 'Captain Pointy' and 'Private Passing Fag Packet', the overall
pose quality is very good (though what I will do with three dead guys is anyones
guess). These are very well animated with the clever use of multiple parts to
get some excellent action poses. You also have variant weapon options for
several of the poses allowing you to have further variation in your force along
with some very nice seperate heads that will get alot of use! Detail is high and
they look like they will be very easy to paint. Certainly the painted pics on
the box dont do them justice - They look terrible! My one comment to the company
would be to lose the painted pic off the back of the box... It makes them look
pretty poor, when in reality these are excellent figures.

I did a quick  working out, and even with the poses I dont like, I reckon that for the price of
two boxes you will get about three battalions worth of figures for Rapid Fire!
If they release British support weapons, then I
can see me doing alot of new British!

I  shall be testing these with the dip in a week or two to see how they turn out
with the dip and painted normally.

Piers gives these an 8.5/10... Though
the real test will be when they are painted!

Sprue... You
get three of these in the box.
